For those of you who don’t know, that’s my favorite line from the movie Brown Sugar. No it’s not my fav movie because of Taye Diggs or Boris Kodjoe… OK, maybe a little.
I am THE Brown Sugar with a 5, don’t ask, I’d have to turn off all lights, light only candles, and get nose to nose with you for you to understand (and in no way is that a provocative statement, if you thought that it was, I told you you wouldn’t understand). I was made in the 80’s and I’m sure this is because no other cohort could handle me during their time!
Technically, I’m a newlywed. Although my husband has been in my life for nearly ten years, we’ll be married for a year this October! Without him I’m still whole, but with him I feel so complete!
You could call me an overworked mom…. wait, isn’t that redundant? I love my kids! I have three: two biological and a step-daughter and they are all my motivation, otherwise I would just chill… just kidding!
Only the strong survive… middle school! I’m a middle school educator and you would not believe how much I love my job! If only we could get paid like we’re supposed to!
I’m a sassy black woman (not African-American-never been to Africa) that never allows obstacles to stand in my way, because that’s all they are, just obstacles! I completed my undergraduate degree as a single-parent, I sought out the only career I’ll possibly ever be passionate about, and achieved several goals along the way! There are still sooo many things I still want to accomplish and I plan to. I’m currently seeking my master’s degree. My main obstacle is that I’m a huge procrastinator. Well, despite all the complaining I may do, I work very well under pressure. Regardless of my flaws, I am the perfect rhyme over a tight beat.

Natalie: Thanks for the comments! Sometimes I have the exact same reactions! LOL. It does mean a lot, most times we are unaware of how much something as simple as our words can touch a person. Thank you.
