On the business of weather…
September 7, 2008
Now I learned a while back that when a meteorologist identifies a Hurricane or Tropical Storm, then he/she names it. All hurricanes are named in alphabetical order and once we reached Z, then we turn to the Greek alphabet (raise your hand if you know that I was waiting to see what Hurricane Delta did to Haiti three years ago).
Now that I’ve supplied somebody somewhere with their lesson for today, why is it that the hurricanes with the minority names are the ones to tear up some stuff! Let’s look at Katrina, Gustav, & Ike. Ike is currently off the coast of Florida as of now, moving west at 135 mph, and is expected to cause major damage. Within the past few weeks we’ve experienced Gustav, Hanna, and Ike. Yep, Hanna. Bet you ain’t heard nothing bout that one have you?!?!?! Do they expect Ike to tear up some stuff because of Ike Turner? Hahahaha, that was my black logic! Just my five cents on it all..
Check out this list of “names” (found at hurricane.accuweather.com) for storms this year & tell me which ones you think will be devastating…

Did you know Chantee was naming her daughter Hannah?
Yea, I remember you telling me! A good wholesome name that’ll get the baby an education and a career!
